HELPING PEOPLE JOURNEY WITH GOD THROUGH: BELIEVING, BELONGING, BLESSING.

Get LINKed!

At the Overland Park Church of Christ, it is easy to get connected with other people you can relate with, people who are at the same stage in their lives, or who have come together for a common purpose. We call these groups LINKs which stands for Leadership, Involvement, and Networking the Kingdom. Our LINKs meet every Sunday morning for a time of study and encouragement.  To learn more about our LINK philosophy, click here.

It is easy to be part of a LINK, just be there on Sunday morning and join us. You can click here and preview what each LINK is doing on Sunday mornings.

Here is a list of LINKs that you could be a part of:

CABB (College Age and Barely Beyond) Welcome Young Adults in your 20s. The Overland Park Church of Christ has a large and vibrant community of young adults and college students. This group gathers together regularly to provide much-needed support and fun. They are also a very service-minded group that regularly reaches out to those that need assistance, as well as short-term international mission work. And by the way, the church is located just a half-mile away from the JCCC campus.  Check out CABB on Facebook.

Young Adults (20s/30s)  This LINK was just established in January 2011, so you have a wonderful opportunity to be in on the “ground floor.”  Whether you're starting out your career or well established with your place in life, you can find a good fit here. On Sunday mornings, you can find us in Room 115 (for our 9:45 class). Visit OPYoungAdults.webs.com for more info, email us at OPYoungAdults@gmail.com or text 417-501-6729.

Young Couples

Our Young Couples LINK is an outgoing, social group that plans everything from date nights to potluck lunches after church so that we can grow in love and fellowship with another.  If you want to learn more, visit the Young Couples website at opcofcyoungcouples.com or contact the coordinators for the LINK,  Brad and Shannon Wilson wbradwilson@gmail.com or mrsshannonwilson@gmail.com

Young Families (Parents of Elementary Age Children and Younger) There is a tremendous group of young families and excellent environment for children here. There is child care and children's classes during the time this LINK meets on Sundays, as well as during worship times. The parents in the Young Families LINK support one another in many ways, and the church provides dedicated ministers to help parents nurture and teach their children. To learn more about the Young Families LINK, contact:

Dan Knight at dan.knight@opcofc.org.

Tweeners (Parents of Middle School Children

This is a LINK that was established in September 2010.  It consists of a wonderful group of families that have middle school age children.  This group provides a great opportunity for parents to lean on each other as their children go through the awkward “bridging” years between being little elementary children and high school age teenagers.  They are in close contact with the Youth Minister that is working with middle schoolers. To learn more about the Tweeners LINK, contact:

Matt Fulks at mattfulks@hotmail.com or Heather Curry at curry@comcast.net.

SOLO Flyers (Serving Our Lord Only, a Singles Group) This singles group is an active and supportive one, meeting on Sunday mornings for study and support, but also meeting regularly to serve the community around them. For more information about the SOLO Flyers LINK, contact:

opcofcsoloflyers@aol.com or join Solo Flyers on Facebook.

PACT (Parents Affirming Christ’s Teens) The environment available for parents and their teenaged children is remarkable. It is strengthened with the help of dedicated ministers.  We have a dedicated Teen Wing that helps to facilitate the growth of faith and support of both parents and their teens. And don’t forget, the Youth Group at the Overland Park Church of Christ is an active and vibrant one. If you would like to know more about the PACT LINK, please contact:

Dennis Bacon at Dbacon65@kc.rr.com, Cheryl Walker at cherylop@sbcglobal.net, or Kevin Harwell at kharwell@hotmail.com.

Turning Point (Adults making healthy transitions in their middle years) The Turning Point LINK is a group of Christians helping one another and learning to be active Christians as we transition through our middle years (kind of like saying we are not ready to admit to getting older). Please visit our Turning Point LINK page to learn more, or email us at turningpointlink@gmail.com .

Empty Nesters

The kids are gone and the nest is empty, now there is a lot of time and energy left to enjoy one another and grow to be the active Christians we are called to be. Please contact the coordinators listed below if you would like to learn more about the Empty Nesters LINK:

Waymon Hunnicutt at wdhunni@hotmail.com.

STARS (Servant Team of Active Retired Seniors) Many OP members have transitioned to the point in our lives where we are able to be very influential and play important roles in helping other Christians grow in their faith, and this is where the STARS excel. For more information about the STARS LINK, contact:

Sam Lovell at samlov1@juno.com.

Deaf Ministry

The mission of the Deaf ministry at the OP is To visually communicate God's message using American Sign Language. We meet on Sunday mornings for encouragement and to grow in our faith as Christians.
